The Debt Lady

Founder – Jerri Simpson AKA “The Debt Lady”

Best known to the public as “The Debt Lady” for her popular Blogs and Newsletters on personal finances, Jerri has over 26 years experience in the debt collection and debt settlement industries.

Starting in 1985 as a debt collector, she gained firsthand experience with creditors and spent her days filing law suits against debtors, ultimately making their lives miserable.  After 17 years she decided to retreat from the “dark side” and get into the Debt Settlement industry to help consumers instead of harass them.

In 2002 she started at a debt settlement company and after a few short months was promoted to Vice President of Operations.  In 2006 she founded My Debt Company and has been helping consumers get out of debt ever since.

Today, in addition to running the day to day operations of the debt settlement company, she consults consumers and works with them to create a personal program to manage their finances.  The program may include but is not limited to creating and keeping a budget and handling their credit card debt.  The Debt Lady has helped thousands of people over the years gain control over their financials without having to file for bankruptcy, or enroll in a formal program.

It is very important to The Debt Lady that any program that someone enrolls in is right for them and they are not pushed into anything.  Her purpose is to do what is right for the consumer no matter what, leaving the consumer to decide what is right for them with the knowledge that they need to make that decision.
